Turville Art Studios
These studios were built in the stunning location of Turville.
D.H.Bond were first required to demolish and dispose of some existing outbuildings in the clients field before excavating and concreting strip foundations for the new structure. After ensuring that all drainage and service entries were in position we then formed an exterior shutter to contain the new structural slab. The insulation, DPM and reinforcement were then laid on a compacted sub-base and the exterior shutter lined and strutted correctly. We then committed to a suitable day to pour the slab based on weather conditions. The 150mm thick slab was poured in a single morning, using our 11 tonne excavator, then vibrated and screeded to the correct levels. Two power floats were then used in stages over the next 9 hours to give the slab the smooth, flat and shiny finish that was required.
D.H.Bond also carried out foul and surface water drainage, including installing a small septic tank, plus extensive trenching for incoming services and basic external finishing.
