The Field House, Cookham
D.H.Bond were chosen to carry out the excavation and construction of a large basement for this new dwelling.
After excavating the shape of the basement and forming a safe batter along the sides, the drainage under the slab was then installed and a sump chamber formed in order for the waste to be pumped out. Concrete blinding was then levelled over the area of the excavation before the reinforcement and construction of the basement was carried out in stages over the next month. All service and drainage entries were then drilled before the exterior of the basement was backfilled, with as dug ballast saved from the excavation, and compacted in layers.
D.H.Bond also carried out extensive drainage, including installing a large septic tank and drainage field beyond, plus numerous service runs around the property. We also carried out all external work preparation, including forming a curved retaining wall for a large raised lawn area, plus excavation and filling for all the terracing, entrance and driveway. D.H.Bond also excavated and formed the shape of the new swimming pool and surrounding terrace.
